December 9, 2005
Thomas Erl of SOA Systems will be delivering the keynote speech at the SOA Symposium scheduled for December 9th at the University of Manitoba. His presentation will be video taped and broadcast live via Webcast. Below is an abstract from the presentation entitled "SOA, the Service-Orientation Paradigm, and the Service Oriented Computing Landscape". Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is at the heart of a new generation computing platform that is being positioned as one of the most significant IT advancements to date. It leverages contemporary distributed technologies and establishes a potential to unite business and automation on an unprecedented level. All major software vendors are now officially supporting SOA and driving the service-oriented computing platform into the IT mainstream on a global scale. This presentation will discuss SOA as an architectural model, service-orientation as its underlying and evolving design paradigm, and will provide an exploration of what is motivating organizations to transition toward SOA. |
