SOA Systems is pleased to offer the SOA Certification Workshop during the week of February 4-8, 2008. This bootcamp-style training session provides optional, on-site certification and is organized into the five one-day classes listed in the Agenda below.

Participants can register for one or more course days. Each day is priced individually and there is a package price for those who register for all five.

The registration fee includes all required materials and text books. Note that all courseware provided is printed in full-color.



Agenda

The five courses being offered correspond to the five modules required to attain the Certified SOA Consultant designation. Several of these modules are also credit courses for additional certifications (see www.soachool.com for more information).

Day 1 (9 AM - 4 PM, Monday, February 4, 2008)
Fundamental SOA & Service-Oriented Computing


An overview of key concepts and terminology associated with SOA, service-oriented computing and service-orientation, including a study of strategic benefits and impacts.

Day 2 (9 AM - 4 PM, Tuesday, February 5, 2008)
SOA Technology Concepts


A study of the primary technologies used to build service-oriented solutions, with an emphasis on XML and Web services-based technologies, including numerous WS-* standards.

Day 3 (9 AM - 4 PM, Wednesday, February 6, 2008)
SOA Design & Architecture


An exploration of the service-oriented architectural model and the service-orientation design paradigm, including in-depth coverage of service compositions and related roles.

Day 4 (9 AM - 4 PM, Thursday, February 7, 2008)
SOA Project Delivery & Methodology


An overview of the SOA project delivery lifecycle and related project delivery strategies, with an emphasis on service-oriented analysis and service modeling.

Day 5 (9 AM - 4 PM, Friday, February 8, 2008)
SOA Technology Languages


A hands-on session requiring students to learn and work with XML, XML Schema, and WS-BPEL languages through a series of tutorials and exercises.

Optional Exams

You are not required to complete exams to attend this workshop. Exams only need to be completed by those interested in attaining certification credit for the courses. Attendees that do not take the exams are still issued an offical "Certificate of Completion" for this workshop.

Each exam is held at 8 AM on the morning after the previous course day. The exam for Day 5 will therefore be held on the morning of Saturday, February 9, 2008.

Note that special arrangements can be made regarding exams. The exam for Day 5 can be taken on the evening of February 8 instead, and options for remote testing are also available.

Registration

You can choose to register for any one or all of the 5 days. The base price is $699 US per day and there is a 10% discount when registering for all five days.

You can choose whether or not to take the exams required for the certification. There is one exam for each course day and each exam costs $100. When registering for all five days, the 10% discount also applies to the exam fees.

Course Textbooks

All attendees will receive a complimentary of: "SOA: Principles of Service Design" or "Service-Oriented Architecture: Concepts, Technology, and Design", depending on which course days they are registered for.

    

Students registering for the entire week will receive copies of both titles. These textbooks are used to supplement the courses. More information regarding these titles is available at www.soabooks.com
