SOA Systems is pleased to offer the SOA Certification Workshop during the week of Sept. 15-21, 2008. This bootcamp-style training session provides optional, on-site certification and is organized into the seven one-day classes listed in the Agenda below. Participants can register for one or more course days. Each day is priced individually and there is a package price for those who register for five or more.
The registration fee includes all required materials and text books. All courseware provided is printed in full-color. Please note that seating is limited.
Certification Requirements
The seven course modules being offered correspond to the course credit required to attain the following two SOA certifications: Certified SOA Consultant Requires completion of Modules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (Sept. 15-19) Certified SOA Architect Requires completion of Modules 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 (Sept. 15-17/20-21) Several of these modules are also credit courses for additional certifications (see www.soaschool.com for more information).
Day 1 (9 AM - 4 PM, Monday, Sept. 15, 2008)
Fundamental SOA & Service-Oriented Computing (Module 1) An overview of key concepts and terminology associated with SOA, service-oriented computing and service-orientation, including a study of strategic benefits and impacts. [view full course description] Day 2 (9 AM - 4 PM, Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008) SOA Technology Concepts (Module 2) A study of the primary technologies used to build service-oriented solutions, with an emphasis on XML and Web services-based technologies, including numerous WS-* standards. [view full course description] Day 3 (9 AM - 4 PM, Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008) SOA Design & Architecture (Module 3) An exploration of the service-oriented architectural model and the service-orientation design paradigm, including in-depth coverage of service compositions and related roles. [view full course description] Day 4 (9 AM - 4 PM, Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008) SOA Project Delivery & Methodology (Module 4) An overview of the SOA project delivery lifecycle and related project delivery strategies, with an emphasis on service-oriented analysis and service modeling. [view full course description] Day 5 (9 AM - 4 PM, Friday, Sept. 19, 2008) SOA Technology Languages (Module 5) A hands-on session requiring students to learn and work with XML, XML Schema, and WS-BPEL languages through a series of tutorials and exercises. [view full course description] Day 6 (9 AM - 4 PM, Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008) Advanced SOA Design & Architecture (Module 8) A comprehensive study of different types of service-oriented architectures and advanced topics associated with the application of service-orientation design principles. [view full course description] Day 7 (9 AM - 4 PM, Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008) SOA Design & Architecture Lab (Module 9) A hands-on workshop enabling students to apply the models, concepts, techniques, and principles covered previously in order to complete a series of architectural and service design exercises. [view full course description] You are not required to complete exams to attend this workshop. Exams only need to be completed by those interested in attaining certification credit for the courses. Attendees that do not take the exams are still issued an offical "Certificate of Completion" for this workshop. Each exam is held at 8 AM on the morning after the previous course day. The exam for Day 7 can be taken on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 21 or the morning of Monday, Sept. 22. You can choose to register for any one or all of the 7 days. The base price is $699 US per day and there is a 10% discount when registering for five or more course days. Note that the previous workshop sold out. To secure a seat in this workshop, please send in your registration information as early as possible. You can choose whether or not to take the exams required for the certification. There is one exam for each course day and each exam costs $100. When registering for five or more course days, the 10% discount also applies to the exam fees. Directions
All attendees will receive complimentary copies of: "SOA: Principles of Service Design" and/or "Service-Oriented Architecture: Concepts, Technology, and Design", depending on which course days they are registered for. Course material further includes advance content from the upcoming book "SOA Design Patterns". Students registering for the entire week will receive copies of both titles.
