SOA Systems Delivers "SOA in Higher Education" Workshop for International Audience
SOA Systems delivered a hands-on workshop dedicated to the exploration of service-oriented architecture (SOA) within the realm of higher education. The event took place at the Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver, Canada and was attended by representatives from higher education institutions (universities, private colleges, community colleges) from around the world.
Thomas Erl of SOA Systems was invited to lead the workshop as a global community effort. Part of the workshop agenda was to educate attendees in SOA concepts and service-orientation principles, as well as to provide an update as to the current state of the SOA and Web services industries.
The main focus of the event was the application of this knowledge to the delivery of a set of service candidates to support common and global student services functionality. These candidates were produced by applying Service-Oriented Analysis Process from the SOA Systems Mainstream SOA Methodology.
The success of this workshop is the result of group participation. All attendees contributed in each step of the Service-Oriented Analysis Process by sharing their respective subject matter expertise in higher education.
