SOA Patterns Workshop at Gartner Summit in Las Vegas
Thomas Erl (founder of SOA Systems) has been invited to deliver a pre-conference workshop at the Gartner Application Architecture, Development & Integration Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The workshop is focused on SOA design patterns and principles and is scheduled for 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 7th, 2008.

"Understanding SOA Design Patterns and Principles"
After three years in development and with contributions from dozens of SOA experts, a comprehensive catalog of SOA design patterns has recently been finalized and made available. For the first time in North America, author Thomas Erl will preview these patterns from his upcoming book SOA Design Patterns. Thomas will give an overview of the entire SOA design pattern catalog and then reveal key strategic and design patterns and explain how they should and should not be applied.
As a foundation for this workshop, Thomas will briefly outline the four different SOA types, the seven key service-oriented computing goals, and the eight service-orientation principles and he will further cover the basics of design patterns and pattern languages by establishing their importance in the IT industry and explaining how they provide field-testing solutions to common design problems. Attendees will receive a voucher for a free copy of the upcoming book SOA Design Patterns and a unique "SOA Principles" color poster. During the workshop, a set of four SOA books will also be given to the best participants.
