XML & Web Services Integration Framework (XWIF)
XWIF is an integration methodology developed by SOA Systems Inc. during 1998-2002. The goal of XWIF is to establish a set of best practices, standards and guidelines for the successful integration of XML and service oriented architectures into existing legacy environments. To accomplish this, XWIF proposes standardized transition architectures, accompanied by adaptive migration strategies. XWIF complements the mainstream SOA analysis and design methodology also developed by SOA Systems later, during 2007-2008.
A number of XWIF integration strategies, best practices, and processes were documented in a best-selling book published through The Prentice Hall Service-Oriented Computing Series from Thomas Erl.
